March 22, 1941 – November 14, 2024
George Van Der Linden Sr., 83, De Pere, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Unity Hospice following his final Manhattan and a special motorcycle tribute led by his grandchildren Samuel, Abigail, and Leah, which he thoroughly enjoyed!
He was born March 22, 1941, to the late Frank and Minnie (Van Den Heuvel) Van Der Linden.
While in high school, George met the love of his life, Patricia "Pat" Kobes. They married on September 29, 1962, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in De Pere.
George's career spent his career working for Proctor and Gamble East River Mill.
He will always be remembered for his dry sense of humor and delivering one-liners with a straight face, followed by a grin.
George is survived by his wife, Pat; children, George Jr. (Diane), Joe (Tracy), Mark (Girlfriend Jenny Bell), and Amy (Steve) Burt; grandchildren, Drew (Amanda), Kayla, Rebekah, Caleb, Leah, Samuel, Abigail, Clayton, Laci (Logan), Myles, and Chloe; great-grandchild, Croix. He is further survived by his sister Mary Patterson, brothers- and sisters-in-law, Bob (Jan) Kobes, Rita Van Der Linden, Ruth Van Rite, and Carol Giovingo, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, Frank, Catherine, and Antoinette Kobes. Brother, Ed, three infant brothers, brothers- and sisters-in-law, Rich Van Rite, Phil Giovingo, and one infant brother-in-law: nephew, Steve Van Rite, and numerous cousins.
Family and friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1305 Lourdes Ave., De Pere, on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 10:00AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00PM with Fr. James Baraniak O.Praem. officiating.
George's family would like to thank his medical team at Aurora Clinic/Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital, and Froedtert Memorial Hospital for giving them more time with their dad. A special thank you to the caring staff at Unity Hospice in De Pere, who made George's last few days as comfortable as possible.
