Gerald "Jerry" Calaway, 68, De Pere passed away on Friday December 16, 2016 due to an accident. He was born August 24, 1948 son of Lorraine (Daul) & the late John Calaway Jr. Jerry served his country during the Vietnam War. He spent most of his life as a truck driver, going out in 1984 and starting his own business, Calco Express/Cal-Less Transport. Always one to help others out, Jerry was generous to a great number of people. In 2000 he started Jackson Pointe CITGO in memory of his father. A true believer in hard work was the best thing for you, when not at work, he enjoyed gardening, off road racing, vacations in Mexico and trips to the Post Office.
He will be sadly missed by his mom Lorraine Calaway, his siblings; Thomas (Sandra) Calaway, Susan (Steve) Rotter, Mary (Paul T.) Willems, and Jackie (Steve) Baeten. Further surviving him are his nieces and nephews; Catherine "Kitty" (Pat) Schounard, Rolf (Adela) Calaway, Thomas (Lisa) Calaway Jr., Jonette (Brad) Coonen, Sonya (Matt) Steeno, Jenny (Paul) Thompson, Allison (Luke) Weiner, Matt (Amamda) Rotter, Betsy (Drew) Thiessen, Caitlin (Nick) Romagna, David (Nicki) Willems, Hannah Willems, Brandon (Natalya) Baeten, Samantha (special friend Matt Van Rite) Baeten, and Brianna (fianc David Schmidt) Baeten. Jerry is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, great nieces and nephews, and past and present employees. Jerry will also be greatly missed by Ann, whom brought him so much happiness over the last 5 years. He was preceded in death by his dad John.
Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere after 3:00PM Thursday December 22, 2016. A service for Jerry will be held at 7:00PM. Burial will take place in Lawrence Cemetery. Please go to www.ryanfh.com to send online condolences to the family.
