Gerald L.W. Hildahl, "Butch", "Giggles" "Jerry"
Was ready to go be with the Lord on Monday, and by Friday, August 7, 2020, he did just that. Gerald was born January 10, 1944 to Elmer Hildahl and Geraldine (Stoddart) in Oshkosh. Hildahl proudly served his country from 1962-1968 with the Military Police in the United States Army. He married Terri Tangye and they had four children.
Giggles enjoyed riding and when he could no longer ride, he continued to enjoy time spent with all his brothers and sisters at Si and Michelle Shop. He suffered many years with multiple medical issues but was one helluva tough trooper. He started life out making some real bad choices and huge mistakes, but he hung in there-faced his wrong doings-and taught what life is about in the end. He showed us that no matter what you do in life, if you face it, own it, repent, and call the Lord, He is faithful, and His mercy is beyond comprehension at times. You, Dad, are forgiven. May the rest of us find that peace that he showed; you are loved and will be missed by many.
Gerald is survived by wife JoAnn Carroll, 3 of his children; Gerald Hildahl, Heidi Larios (Hildahl); Michele Hildahl; his grandchildren: Gerald, Tonisha, Terrel, Heidi, and Isaiah; and one great-grandson Zander, his step-son; Jake and his son Nicholas, many cousins, nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mike Hildahl; former wife Terri Tangye; daughter, Traci Hildahl, stepchildren Brian and Amanda, and all his brothers and sisters in the wind.
Giggles will be honored at a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 29, 2020 from 12 PM to 4PM at Simons Custom Cycle, 999 N. Military Ave., Green Bay. A final Military Gun Salute to take place at 3PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted.
A final message from him: If someone takes something from you, try not to get mad and know they must have needed more than you.
A special thanks to Richard and Barbara Stoddart, Si and Michele, Danny (his best friend), Alice (his favorite caretaker), and the VA team. A very special thank you to Ryan Funeral Home for taking over, respectfully.
