Gerald "Jerry" Norbert Schadrie, 79, of De Pere died peacefully after a long struggle with Alzheimer's on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. He was born May 9, 1933 in De Pere to the late Norbert and Loretta (Kleuskens) Schadrie. On October 19, 1957 he married the former Marlene White at St. Peter and Paul Church in Green Bay. He was a 1951 graduate of Nicolet High School in De Pere. Jerry served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. Gerald was employed at the C.A. Lawton Company for 42 years. He enjoyed baseball, softball, and bowling. He also enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Marlene, of 54 years, his sister Janet Mae (Jim) Counihan, and his three children, Julie (Brian) Ebben, Jeff (Marcia) Schadrie, and Jill (Mark) Vivoda. He is survived by his seven grandchildren: Andy (fianc Sarah), Brad, and Kimberlea Engel; Jessica (Travis) Vanden Heuvel and Nathan Schadrie; Alexander and Allison Ebben; and a great-granddaughter due in June. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and brothers-in-law Jerry White, Ronald (Sue) White, Dean (Linda) White, and sister-in-law Chris (Karl) Despins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Linda Bechtold, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation at Old St. Joe's Church on St. Norbert College Campus on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Parish prayer service will be held at 4:00 pm. Visitation will continue after 9:00 am Monday at the church until time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Monday at the church with Father James Neilson, O.
