Gerald T. Willems 84, De Pere, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 7, 2018. He was born December 29, 1933 to the late Arnold and Edith (Williams) Willems. On June 27, 1953, he married Shirley Flaten at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Green Bay. Jerry excelled in sports at Nicolet High School and went on to enjoy playing in several local leagues with his buddies. He also loved playing cards and games and spending time with his family, especially at the cottage. Jerry worked for years in the construction trade as well as at Nicolet Paper Co.
He is survived by his wife Shirley; daughter Pam (Jeff) Czyzewski, grandchildren Eric (Julie Richert) Van Remortel, Andy Van Remortel, Cory Czyzewski; son Paul (Mary) Willems, grandchildren Betsy (Drew) Thiessen, Caitlin (Nick) Romagna, David (Nicki) Willems, Hannah (Elliott Johnson) Willems; daughter Julie (Chuck) Main, grandchildren Brian (Tina) Main, Adam (Erin) Main; son Chris (Morgan Bohen) Willems; son Robert (Lorene) Willems, grandchildren Matt Willems, Brandon (deceased) Willems, Courtney (fiancé Caleb Haley) Willems, Luke Willems; son Charles (Sarah) Willems, grandchildren Sydney Willems and Bryce Willems; and 8 great grandchildren. Jerry is further survived by his brother Ken, brother in law Mike McCourt, sisters in law Mae Willems, Gloria Peters, Joan Williquette, Patricia Walus, and Peggy Flaten.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandson Brandon Willems, his parents, a sister, Delores McCourt, and his brothers; Don (Lil), Dick and Geno (Jean) Willems.
Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, De Pere, after 8:30AM, Friday, October 12, 2018. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM with Fr.
