IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Germaine Helen
Diny
September 23, 1933 – May 19, 2023
Germaine Helen Diny, 89, De Pere, passed away peacefully yet unexpectedly surrounded by her family on Friday, May 19, 2023. She was born September 23, 1933, to Sylvester and Vivian (Hendricks) Cornelissen. On April 7, 1951, she was united in marriage to her one true love, Leo D. Diny at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenleaf. Leo preceded her in death on July 19, 1987, leaving her to care and love their 8 children.
After Leo's death, she continued to run their business in Greenleaf - Diny's Super Service with their oldest son Dan. In retirement years Germaine went on to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved to golf, camping, boating, traveling, and dancing away doing the polka.
She was fondly known as "Grandma Great"! Germaine was a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes, De Pere. She was proud of all 8 children, always stating that she loved them all the same and yet she would make each of us feel special individually as only she could do. She was the best mother with so many truly amazing "Mommy Talents".
She will be sadly missed by her children; Marlene (Gary) Leick, Nancy Diny, Patty (Bob) Davis, Lani (Roy) Biese, Gale (Rob) Harteau, Jodie (Dan) Renon, and James Diny. Germaine will also be sadly missed by her 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren (plus one on the way).
Her siblings; Sandy Greenley, Jack Cornelissen, and sister-in-law Barb (Bonnie) Cornelissen. Leo's siblings; Jerry (Carol) Diny, Mary (Jack) Dresdow and Patricia Diny.
Germaine was preceded in death by her husband Leo, oldest son Dan and his wife Gwen (Cropsey) Diny, special friend Jack Lundin and her family, Carol (Bill) Burke, Mary Lou (Lloyd) Gussert, Gerald Cornelissen, and Mary Ellen Cornelissen. Leo's family; John (Margaret) Diny, Larry (Doris) Diny, Nick Diny Jr., Toddy (Gerald) Daanen and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, De Pere from 10:00AM Thursday, May 25th, until Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00PM with Fr. James Baraniak O.Praem. officiating. Private family burial will immediately follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Greenleaf. Please go to www.ryanfh.com to send online condolences.
The family has requested that friends and visitors refrain from wearing perfumes, colognes, and very strong essential oils, as many family members suffer from migraines and allergies.
A special thank you goes out to her grandson Tanner VanDenBerg for helping with mom's care that allowed her to remain in her home to the very end.
Mom, thank you for all our special moments, and your grace & love, till your last breath. We love you always and forever!
