Germaine Catherine (Durben) Kraft, Allouez, passed away Monday October 18, 2010. She was born October 14, 1912 to Peter Durben and Maude Emily (Boutotte) Durben. Germaine graduated from Green Bay West High School. While in high school, she starred in many school productions and was very active in declamatory competitions throughout the state. She went on to attend the Larsen Conservatory and classes at the University of Wisconsin- Green Bay. Most of her life, she was affiliated with many community projects and involved in numerous community activities. She was an avid golfer primarily playing at the old Shorewood Country Club. She was an active member of the church. Germaine married Arnold E. Kraft on September 14, 1933 and he preceded her in death on October 5, 1985. They had three children. She is survived by those three children, M. Susan Kraft, Green Bay, Joseph A. Kraft, Little Sturgeon, and Jeane (Alfred H.) Fleck, Wickenburg, AZ, five grandchildren, Jacqui (Rick) Engebos, De Pere, Jenni Kraft (Keith Bair), De Pere, Suzan (Garth) Fleck Reynolds, Longmont, CO, Jolie (Rich) Roberts, Abrams, and Jacob (Cameron) Fleck, San Francisco, CA, and six great-grandchildren, Brandon and Meagan Engebos, Kali Kraft, Zachary and Xander Roberts, and Sloane Catherine Reynolds, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Germaine was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold, her sister and her husband, Glenore (James) Van Laanen, her brothers and their wives, Clyde (Bea) Durben and Bernard (Evelyn) Durben, a brother-in-law and his wife, LaVerne (Geraldine) Kraft, a sister-in-law and her husband, Millicent (Clifford) Burns, and her daughter-in-law, Judy (Gay) Kraft. Family and friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday. Parish prayer service will be held at 6:30 pm. Visitation will continue after 9:30 Saturday at Resurrection Catholic Church, Allouez, until time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am Saturday at the church. Entombment to follow at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorial funds have been established for the American Cancer Society (Breast Cancer Research), Salvation Army or Resurrection Catholic church.
