Gladys (Stodola) Peot died on Thursday, October 8, just three weeks short of her 100th birthday. She was the daughter of Frances (Herman) Stodola and Joseph Stodola and the youngest of 12 children. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Al Peot.
Gladys was a graduate of Kewaunee High School and studied business at Miss Brown's School in Milwaukee. She married Al in 1936. Gladys worked as a bookkeeper, and generously volunteered her time to organizations including the Girl Scouts, St. Joseph School and the Red Cross. She loved to travel, spend time in Door County, and garden. Gladys was an intrepid hiker and an excellent cook, specializing in traditional Czech food including pork hocks with sauerkraut and her signature koloches.
Most recently Gladys has been an active, engaged member of the Artisan Senior Living community where she recently enjoyed an early birthday gathering with her extended family.
Gladys is survived by her daughter Mary (Peot) Vallejo, her son-in-law Luis Vallejo and her granddaughter Johanna, as well as many dearly loved nieces, nephews, and their children and grandchildren.
Friends and family may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Family Parish, corner of Suburban Drive and Lourdes Avenue, De Pere, on Friday, October 16, 2015 beginning at 9:00am until 10:30am when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Fr.
