Gladys Pearl Roskom, 89, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. Gladys was born in Black Creek, WI on October 12, 1931, daughter to Carl and Hazel (Reis) Leisgang. She married Claude A. Roskom on November 22, 1951 and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Gladys enjoyed baking, playing cards, sewing, golfing, and bowling. She also loved traveling to many different places with family and friends. Gladys began her 30-year teaching career in a one room schoolhouse in Seymour, Wisconsin, and taught in the Kimberly School District for 26 years. She volunteered at St. Paul Home, was a member of the Wisconsin Retired Educators Association, was a long-time member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, and proudly donated blood for 20 years. Gladys loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family and friends. She will be missed by all. She is survived by her husband of 70 years Claude Roskom, her children Dan (Carolyn), Bruce (Rhonda), Susan (Ron) Hermus, Claudia (Stace) Kipp, Gene, Mary (Brian) Bast, Sara (Chester) Woerishofer, Denise Roskom, 17 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren, her brother-in-law Levi (Alice) Roskom, sister-in-law Shirley Roskom, numerous nieces and nephews, and other family members. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Norman, Franklin, LaVern, and Bernice.
Friends may visit after 10:00AM Monday, May 24, 2021 in the chapel at Highland Memorial Park 3131 N. Richmond in Appleton, until time of service at 11:00AM. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere is assisting the family with arrangements.
