Obituary

Glenn P Maus, 79, of De Pere passed away August 11, 2023, at Bellin Hospital. He was born February 26, 1944, to the late Arthur and Marie (Platkowski) Maus in Green Bay.

Glenn grew up in Oneida, WI on the family homestead, the youngest of ten children. He graduated from West De Pere High School Class of 1963. After graduation, Glenn followed in the footsteps of his older brothers and enlisted into the United States Marine Corps in 1964. His service included two tours in Vietnam and being awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained during combat. After his honorable discharge in 1968, he returned home and married Judith Kussow on Halloween Day of 1970.

The couple bought a house they made a home in Ashwaubenon and raised three sons. Glenn spent most of his working career as a union paper worker and in his free time supported his three sons in their sports and hobbies. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, spending time up north in Pembine, being a practical joker and walking the aisles at Menards.

He is survived by his wife Judy, their three sons Jason, Jesse, and Jeremy; eleven grandchildren including seven grandsons Mason (Courtney), Tristan (Katie), Landon, Caden, Carter, Logan, Luke, four granddaughters, Taylor, Sydnie, Caitlyn, Kendal; great grandsons Weston and Waylon, and a great granddaughter due in October. He is also survived by his brother Gary (Charlene), sister Darlene (Mark) Sconzert, sister Sharon (Spence) Linder and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by siblings: Rosemary (Leo) Diederich, Sister Mary Arthur, Gordon (Viola) Maus, Dolores (Clarence) Jeanquart, Patricia (Merlin) Van Donsel, and Marlene Cossey; father and mother-in-law Elmer and Eleanor (Pagel) Kussow; brother-in-laws Russell and Merle Kussow.

Ryan Funeral Home will hold visitation starting at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2023, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. The burial ceremony with Military Honors will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2023 at Lawrence Cemetery on Sand Acres Road.

The family would like to thank Dr. Hill, Dr. Ough, their staff's along with Paul, Annika and the Bellin ICU team and Liv, Kim, Zoe and the 7th Floor staff members who took care of Glenn through his end of days. Special thanks to Unity Hospice for the care and touching ceremony last Wednesday.

God welcomed home a good man and good Marine. Those that know what that means will salute and those that knew him will grin and cherish his memories.
