Grace Griffey, 84, of Oneida, died on the morning of Thursday, July 12, 2012 at a local hospital. Grace was born August 6, 1927 in Oneida, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late William and Mary (Webster) Metoxen. Grace married Albert Griffey, Sr. in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death on February 17, 2002.
Grace enjoyed ballroom dancing, loved cooking, and a huge fan of the Packers, Cubs, Elvis, and Rod Stewart.
Grace is survived by her four children: Hopie Paterson, Ken (Rusty) Griffey, Brenda Griffey, and Al (Vickie) Griffey, Jr; seven grandchildren: Sid, Jeff, Heather, Bill, Lucas, Doug, and Adam; several great grandchildren; special son Willie Garcia; two sisters: Sadie Cornelius and Lydia Skenandore, and numerous nieces and nephews. . She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary (Webster) Metoxen; husband Albert Griffey Sr.; son Eddie Griffey; son-in-law Sid Paterson; and her siblings.
Friends and family may call at Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere, on Sunday, July 15, 2012, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Oneida Singers 6:30 p.m. with prayer service 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday at Oneida United Methodist Church, N3067 County Road E, Oneida from 9:00 am to time of funeral. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Earl L. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Oneida Methodist Cemetery.
