Hazel B. Liebergen, 98, De Pere, passed away Thursday morning, October 10, 2024.
She was born June 4, 1926, to the late Lloyd and Alice (Van De Walle) Wishart.
On August 6, 1949, she was united in marriage to Lawrence "Whitey" Liebergen at St. Boniface Catholic Church.
A wonderful cook and Baker, Hazel started working at Pauly's Cheese, before going onto the Union Hotel, and finally West De Pere High School where she was the head baker for the food program. Hazel retired in 1991. Hazel and Lawrence were "Snowbirds", spending many warm winters in McAllen, Texas and summers at their cottage in Athelstane, WI. Hazel and Whitey loved to dance and are most definitely dancing together again in heaven.
She is survived by her children; Barb (Gary) Van Boxtel, Bev Bunnell, and Debbie Prosser (boyfriend, Pat Agamaite). Grandchildren; Larry (Laurie) Van Boxtel, Lynn Steinbrecker, Dan (Sue) Van Boxtel, Heather (George) Powless, Jason Bunnell, Kirk (Jackie) Prosser, and Brad (Lindsay) Prosser. 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-great-grandchildren. Further survived by her brother-in-law James "Skip" VanderHeyden, sisters-in-law Betty Verheyen, Ethel "Hun" Liebergen, and many other family and friends.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lawrence, brother Darold (Doris) Wishart, her sister Nancy VanderHeyden, brothers-in-law Ralph Liebergen, Robert Liebergen, Ray Verheyen, and sister-in-law Betty Higgins.
Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere from 4:00PM Wednesday, October 16th, until time of service at 7:30PM.
Special thanks to Rennes Nursing Home, Moments Hospice and her roommate Audrey, your kindness will not be forgotten.
