Helen Achten, 9, Valparasio, IN, formerly of De Pere, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015. She was born February 6, 1925 in Brown County, WI to Frank and Lena (Albers) Coenen. She is survived by her sons, Larry (Nancy) Achten Sr., Dennis (Judy) Achten, Jeff (Sue) Achten, Ken (Chriss) Achten, and Mark (life partner Jim Wright) Achten; several brothers and sisters, eight grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norbert, and several brothers and sisters. Helen was a member of the De Pere VFW Post 2113 Ladies Auxiliary. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 10:00 am at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368 with Deacon Huber officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Cremation services were provided by Heritage Crematory, Portage, IN. An interment of ashes will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 10:00 am Heritage Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 50 East 91st Street Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46209.
