Obituary

Henry "Hank" Leo Brooks, 82, Askeaton, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born January 6, 1936 in the Town of Holland, WI, son of the late Henry and Mary (Brochtrup) Brooks. He was their 12th child of the 16 children they were blessed with. He never married, but was a friend to all. His greatest love was music. He proudly owned over 3,000 vinyl albums of all genres that he listened to daily. He worked at Badger Northland until he retired. He proudly & obediently served in the U.S. Army. He lived in Askeaton his entire life where he played softball, belonged to St. Pat's Church, still got together with his childhood friends and grew old peacefully. Henry will always be remembered as a humble and kind man with a story to share. He will be deeply missed by his brothers and sisters: Fr. Charlie Brooks, Kimberly, Janet (Jake) Huber, Kewaunee, Betty (Marv) Rademacher, Wrightstown, Roger "Duke" (Alice) Brooks, Hollandtown; two sister-in-laws, Judie Brooks, Combined Locks; Shirley Kemkes, Appleton; Godson, Jim Kemkes; many nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters: John "Wilmer" (Helen) Brooks, Mary (Paul) Skell, Joe (Betty) Brooks, Adrian Brooks, Rose Ann (Fred) Ponschock, Sister Mary Henry Brooks, Richard Brooks, Theresa (John) Kemkes, Virginia "Jeanie" Brooks, Jacob Brooks and Franklin (Janelle) Brooks and a nephew, Rick Skell. Friends may call St. Clare Parish - St. Patrick's Site on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM with Fr. Brian Wideman celebrating and Fr. Charlie Brooks co-celebrating. Burial in St. Patrick's Parish Cemetery with Military Honors to follow. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Dr. Laura Tucker at the VA Clinic in Appleton, who took amazing care of him in his last days.
