Howard B. Brooks, 87, Town of Holland, passed away peacefully October 13, 2017. He was born August 18, 1930 to the late William and Helen (Miller) Brooks. Howard lived in West De Pere where they had a family gas station until the age of twelve. The family moved to the town of Holland and started farming. He graduated Kaukauna Class of 49. Howard spent the rest of his life doing what he loved, farming. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the Army as a cook. He married Shirley Griesbach. Howard enjoyed traveling, bowling, eating at 'the corner', and watching the Packers. Howard liked to meet people where ever he went with his "big" smile, his warm "Hi" and friendly personality.
He is survived by his children; Steven Brooks, Dennis Brooks, Linda (Rollie) Robertson, and Laurie (Duane) Vander Heiden. He is further survived by his grandchildren; Jennifer, Michael, Kevin, and Brian Vander Heiden, and his sister Delores Wojtczak, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Howard was preceded in death by his ex-wife Shirley, and his siblings; Robert (Luella) Brooks, Norbert (Ruth) Brooks, Jerome (Marilyn) Brooks, Gerald "Pete" Brooks, and brother-in-law Leo Wojtczak.
Friends may call after 2:00PM Monday, October 16, 2017 at St. Clare Catholic Church – Askeaton Site, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 4:30PM with Fr. Carl Meulemans and Deacon Ken Kabat officiating. Full military rites will follow Mass. Burial will take place Tuesday morning in St. Patrick Cemetery, Askeaton.
