Inez Grignon, 96, of Oneida passed away Saturday evening, June 6, 2009 at a local nursing home. The daughter of the late James and Julia (Skenandore) Adams was born March 5, 1913 in Oneida. She married Michael Grignon on July 10, 1934 in Oneida and he preceded her in death. Inez lived in Oneida as a child and after marriage, they lived in Keshena and Chicago for many years prior to moving back to Oneida several years ago.
She was a foster grand-parent and volunteer at Turtle School. She liked fishing, camping, horse pulling and horse auctions.
Survivors include her children, Alfreida Grignon, De Pere, Patrick (Edith) Grignon, Keshena, Alice Guyette (Adrian Barrett), Green Bay, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, children, Fred, William, Inez "Dolly", Richard, and Joe, one grandson, Jerel, two brothers, Ira, Irvin, and her special friend, Martin Wilbur.
Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday June 8, 2009 (today). Oneida Hymn Singing will begin at 6:30 pm with a parish prayer service to follow at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue after 10:00 am Tuesday at Oneida United Methodist Church, Freedom Road, Oneida, until the time of service.
