Isabel J. Coonen 87, long time area resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday morning August 19, 2008. She was born April 30, 1921 in Mills Center. On May 8, 1941 she married Melvin F. Coonen Sr. Isabel enjoyed gardening, embroidering, cooking, watching Lawrence Welk, the Packers and the Brewers, but above all she most cherished spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children; Melvin M. (Joanne) Coonen Jr., Pulaski, Ronald F. (Hilary) Coonen, NM., Tom J. Coonen, Ashwaubenon, Eugene F. (Lu Ann) Coonen, Twsp. Of Lawrence, Michael J. (Jeanne) Coonen, Bellevue, Karen K. (James) Wiltzius, Howard, Sharon (Peter) Zisa, Pulaski, Rosemary M. (William) Nell, Howard, Jeanette C. Coonen, Twsp. Of Scott, Emery H. Coonen, Bellevue, Suzanne M. (James) Baker, Suamico, Debra A. (Gary) Polar, New Franken, Marilyn M. (Garry) Glime, Oneida, as well as 30 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings; Elizabeth McMillian, Clarence Kimps and his special friend Shirley, Carol Jean Skenandore and her special friend Jim. She is also survived by her sisters in laws; Evelyn Coonen, Dorothy Kimps, Helen Laskowski, and Esther Mae Liesch.
She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin F. Coonen Sr., her son Gary Pat Coonen, her siblings; Alice Sinclair, Laura Devroy, Edna Liebhaber, Walter Kimps, and also members of Melvin's family; Josephine Milhaiser, Derbert Coonen, Francis Coonen, and Emery Coonen.
Friends may call at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Dr. Oneida from 4 6:30pm Thursday, and after 10am Friday at the church until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11am with Fr.
