J. Greg
Little
May 12, 1938 – October 2, 2023
John Gregory "Greg" Little, age 85, passed away peacefully with his children by his side on October 2, 2023 after a brief illness.
Greg was born in Sheboygan, WI in 1938 to Dean B. Little and Rose M. Adamchuk and was the oldest of seven children. His family later moved to Green Bay and he graduated from Premontre High School. While in high school, he joined the US Navy Reserve in August 1955 and enlisted in the US Navy shortly after graduation.
Greg graduated from Aircraft Jet and Radial Engine School in Memphis, TN. Shortly after, he was assigned to Glynco Naval Air Station in Brunswick, Georgia and Naha Air Base in Naha, Okinawa, serving as crew chief on a multi-engine aircraft.
In 1960, Greg was honorably discharged from the Navy and met his wife Margaret "Marjo" Kromenaker. They resided in the Town of Lawrence and were married 54 years.
Greg started his automotive employment at Denil Cadillac as a technician, then continued on as a shop foreman and service manager until his retirement at Denil Wall Oldsmobile Cadillac.
At the Town of Lawrence, Greg built a long and impactful career serving the town in various capacities including planning board and volunteer fireman. He later was elected as Town Chairman and remained in that position for 24 years where he directed the development of sanitary sewer and water systems and the Lawrence Business Park. As Town Chairman, Greg was also elected as Chairman of the Brown County Unit of the Wisconsin Towns Association. He also held positions on the Brown County Plan Commission, the Brown County Plan Commission Potable Water Study Committee, the Central Brown County Water Authority, the Authority Technical Committee and the Brown County Board of Adjustment. After he fulfilled his role as Town Chairman, he served as the Town of Lawrence Utility Manager.
Greg is survived by his children Angela (N. Claude) Colabella of Wilton, CT, Cristina (Kevin) Heindel of Kaukauna, WI, John (Devon) Little of Grand Chute, WI and Natalie (Eric) Vandeveld of Green Bay, WI. His brothers and sisters Margaret Little (Bill Bronn), Maplewood, MN, Bill Little, Maui, HI, Dean (Yvonne) Little, Langley, WA and Cathy (Jim) Malec, Egan, MN. Daughter-In-Law Terri Little Acworth, GA, grandchildren Ashley (Josh) Falkowski, Emily Little, Isabel Little, Lauren Little, Adeline Vandeveld and Paul Heindel. Greg is proceeded in death by his parents, Dean and Rose Little, wife Marjo, son Tony and siblings Mary Ann Little-Routhieaux and Jean Little-Aceveto.
Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere on Friday, October 20th from 5:00PM - 7:00PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday at the funeral home from 9:00AM until time of service at 11:00AM. The service will be livestreamed at www.ryanfh.com.
In Lieu of flowers, the family would like to direct any donations to the Town of Lawrence, WI Fire Department outreach programs.
