Obituary

Joseph Paul Snell - De Pere. Paul Snell was received into life eternal on November 14, 2018. He was born November 16, 1939, in Hannibal, MO, to Charles and Wauneta (Sapp) Snell. Paul grew up in Kenosha, WI, and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1958 and attended Wisconsin Lutheran College. Paul's work ethic was second to none. From an early age he spent his summers working his grandparents' farm in Hannibal, delivering newspapers and caddying as a pre-teen. He held many jobs over the years, it seems there wasn't much he didn't or wouldn't do. He retired in 2002 from his position as Senior Buyer at Georgia Pacific, or "The Fort". He loved to bowl, golf, and go hunting. He took great pride in beautifying his yard, battling the millions of pine needles and instilling a work ethic in his children with countless projects, some humorously remembered such as picking up pinecones (an endless task). In his retirement, he became active with his church serving on the council, chairperson of Christian education for Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and was a member of the choir; the music he would say, spoke for him. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and was always willing to lend a hand for any project. He also found his green thumb again from his younger days on the farm with a large vegetable garden that he loved tending to. He had a quick wit, great sense of humor, a beautiful voice and some serious dance moves. His love of westerns, history, war movies, Elvis, the "oldies", and crossword puzzles are just a few examples of our fond memories of our husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Family was everything to him; he bragged on his four children whenever he could and he adored his eight grandchildren. His daughters and granddaughters were his sugar-plums. His son and grandsons were lovingly referred to as, simply, "Son" with emotion thick in his voice. He cherished relationships above all else, attending the annual Snell family reunion in Hannibal each year and high school reunions. He loved reminiscing with friends and family. The stories of him and his brothers will never be forgotten. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Seroogy); children, Naomi Snell (special friend, Rick Otto) of Lake Ridge, VA, Joseph Snell (Kelly Conlin) of Berwyn, PA, Valerie (Joel) Tingley and Clara (Brandon) Pickett of De Pere, WI; grandchildren, Isabella, Adrianna, and Alexander Snell, Tyler and Cullen Tingley, Ashley Snell and Lucie and Alayna Pickett. He is further survived by his sister, Doris (Lawrence) Giesbrecht of Horsefly, British Columbia, his brother, Harold Snell of Amarillo, TX, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ernest Snell, James Snell, Phillip Snell; and his sister-in-law (Phil's wife), Zulema Snell. Friends and family may gather on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Incarnation Lutheran Church, 2071 Ninth St., Green Bay, 54304 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Online condolences may be expressed at www.ryanfh.com.
