James Richard Brasch, 77, of De Pere, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on December 6, 1946 to the late Raymond and Margaret (Langlois) Brasch. He was a graduate of Appleton West High School, class of '65. After graduation James attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering, class of '70. On June 6, 1970, James married Donajane Skall at St. Pius X in Appleton. They shared 54 wonderful years together.

James served in the United States Army from 1970 to 1972. After his time in the service, he was employed as an electrical engineer for several industrial companies, before retiring from Vos Electric. Always active, James was a long-time member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, a past Boy Scout Den Leader and member of the Nicolet German Shepherd Dog Club. James enjoyed volunteering alongside his wife at NAMI Brown County for many years. He was proud to be a self-taught and self-proclaimed "computer geek."

James and his family loved camping when his children were younger. That love for camping carried on to annual week-long "Brasch Bash" camping trips with his adult children and grandchildren. He cherished time with his family and never missed an opportunity to snap action shots of his grandkids. James was an avid music buff; Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin were among his favorites. He will be remembered for his unique passwords and love for surprising Dona.

He will be profoundly missed by his wife Donajane, their children, Jeffrey (Kate), Jeremy (Juliet), Jesse and son-in-law Tim VanDeHei. His grandchildren; Rachel VanDeHei, Mason and Gabriella Brasch and Charlie Willems. His siblings; Sandi Halverson and Randy Brasch. James is further survived by his sister-in-law, Sue (Bill) Rice as well as four nieces.

James was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Jennifer VanDeHei and Jaime Brasch; brother, Ricky Brasch; In-laws, Don and Jane Skall; and brother-in-law, Jim Halverson.

Friends and family are encouraged to gather at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, corner of Suburban Drive and Lourdes Avenue, De Pere, on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 12:30pm until 2:00pm when a Mass of Christian Burial will be held with Fr. James Baraniak, O. Praem. officiating.
