Obituary

James Lee Hill (Jimmy), 74 years old was released from his responsibilities here on earth on Friday, June 9, 2023. He peacefully started his next journey with his grandchildren Cory & La Kota right by his side and his kids and other grandchildren close by. Jimmy was always surrounded by family and friends who loved him dearly during his last days here on earth. Jimmy was born on July 7, 1948, the son of Levander Lee Hill and Mary Nattie (Skenandore) Hill.

Jimmy united into marriage to the love of his life Georgia Ann (Denny) Hill on October 25, 1969. Jimmy is survived by his 4 children Ricky (Bobbi Jo) Hill, Rodney (Jenni) Hill, Troy (Bree) Hill and Tracey (Juan) Cordova. Sisters: Florence (Steve) Petri, Isabell Parker, Veronica Hill, Sarah (Dan) Hoffman. Uncle Edward Skenandore, Aunts Betty Nicholas and Henrietta Gomeyosh. Sister-in-laws: Darlene Denny, Arlene (Al) Pamanet, and Eva Doxtator. Jimmy is further survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Jimmy loved all his family and appreciated everyone.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years who he absolutely adored Georgia Ann (Denny) Hill, Mother Mary Nattie (Skenandore) Hill, Father Levander Lee Hill, Mother-in-law Luella (Doxtator) Denny, Father-in-law Howard Denny, Sister-in-law Roberta Denny, and his Brother-in-law Martin (Sonny mutt) Doxtator.

Jimmy was always a hard worker, he worked two full-time jobs. He worked for Schreiber Foods for 41 years and for the Oneida Nation for 31 years before retiring in 2010. Jimmy can be known for his kind, gentle soul. He was the kind of person you could sit with saying little and yet felt so comfortable and loved in his presence. Jimmy took his responsibilities of husband, dad, and Papa to heart.

Jimmy enjoyed going for rides, watching the Brewers, Packers, and Bucks, attending his grandchildren's events, watching his birds, taking care of his yard, joking around, country music, seafood boils, gambling, collecting bears, fishing, and reminiscing about his younger days of playing ball, jigging, and his classic cars. Jimmy mostly treasured all his time with his wife, they were never apart. Their love was truly one of a kind full of devotion, unconditional love, and dedication. Jimmy couldn't wait to meet with the love of his life once again in the gates of Heaven.

Family and friends may visit at St. Joseph Parish, Oneida, 145 St Joseph Drive, Hobart, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery.

Jimmy's values, morals and unconditional love for his family will forever carry on inside each of us. Jimmy was always very proud to be a Hill. You can always remember Jimmy Hill's departures as, "See you later, tak'er easy."

One of Jimmy's final words to his kids and grandchildren was, "Be Strong, I love You."
