James "Jim" Gevers, 87, De Pere, passed away Tuesday evening, February 28, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Jim was born May 14, 1935, to the late Rapheal and Loretta (Van Den Heuvel) Gevers. He was united in marriage to Shirley Lindsley at St. Boniface Catholic Church, De Pere.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army.

Jim owned Gevers Barbershop in De Pere for many years. An avid Downhill Skier and Golfer, along with all the Wisconsin sports teams.

He is survived by his wife Shirley, their children; Tom Gevers, Pat "Roller" Gevers, Paul (Molly) Gevers, and daughter-in-law Eileen Gevers. Jim is further survived by his grandchildren; Jacob, Nick, and Catherine, as well as his siblings; Mary Achten, Virginia Jansen, Bill (Sue) Gevers, and in laws; Wayne (Sandy) Lindsley, Mike (Barb) Lindsley, Sandy Lindsley, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son Andy, and brothers -in-law; Bernie Achten, Stuart Jansen, and Tom Lindsley.

Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family 1307 Lourdes Ave., De Pere, Monday, March 6, 2023, from 9:00AM – 10:45AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM with Fr. James Baraniak O.Praem. officiating. Full military rites to follow. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere is assisting the family.

The family requests no flowers or plants please, instead a memorial will be established in his name.
