James E. Keen, 81 of Green Bay, WI passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026. He was born on September 17, 1944, to the late Erwin and Irene (Schremp) Keen in Antigo, WI. He graduated from Appleton West High School in 1963. Jim later met his wife, Janeen Peotter, and they married on February 27, 1965. Together they had three boys, John, Jody, “and” Jay.

Jim loved being outdoors, and that mainly was his hobby. He loved all outdoor activities and later loved dragging his sons outdoors with him. He deer hunted a lot in Langlade County and often found that area to be his sanctuary. When the boys were younger, they went up north on the weekends and enjoyed spending their time up there.

When he wasn’t outside, he was in his truck driving for Schnieder. He worked there for 34 years, traveling over 2 million miles. Jim was a walking GPS, and he knew every road in America. He never needed a map. He was a five-star rated driver and could tackle any job. He enjoyed traveling and took Janeen all over the country on countless road trips and cruises.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Janeen, as well as their children, John (Tina) Keen, Jody (Jamie) Keen, and Jay (Teresa) Keen. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Justina, Hailey, Jarrett, Taylor, Josh, and Zach, as well as great-grandchildren Jessi and Bowyn. He is further survived by his siblings, Marilyn (Tom) Merkes, Gary (Sue) Keen, Nancy (Gary) Kleczewski, Mary (Robert) Summers, brother-in-law Tom (Sue) Peotter, sister-in-law Patti (Lee) Peotter-Bettes, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Sherry (Richard) Mielke, Paula (John) Vogt, his nephews Kristopher Keen and Matt Bettes, as well as his in-laws, William and Mary Peotter.

Family and friends may come to call on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 9:00AM to 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Parish, 2771 Oakwood Drive, Green Bay. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place immediately following visitation with Fr. Don Everts officiating.
