Obituary

James "Jimmy" Peter Maddix, 62, Howard, passed away Thursday October 3, 2013 due to natural causes. He was born February 27, 1951 in Green Bay to the late Dolores Maddix McCourt and Jim Maddix. Jimmy served six years in the National Guard, then was employed at Nicolet Paper Mill for 18 years, Midtech in Kimberly, and, most recently, 12 years at Oneida Casino, as a slot machine technician. Jimmy had a great love for the Green Bay Packers. He also found enjoyment in John Wayne movies, playing dominos and cards with family and friends, as well as playing computer games. Jimmy had a sarcastic sense of humor that those who knew him, loved. Nothing brought Jimmy more happiness in life, though, than his family.Jimmy is survived by his special friend, and love of his life, Diane Merckx, daughters, Tessa Christjohn and Jessica Brunner, son, Joshua Maddix, and his four-legged son, Simon; five grandchildren, Morgan, Carson, Jaydin, Maddy, and Aiden; step-father, Mike McCourt; nine siblings, Shirley (Don) Schuessler, Gary (Carol) Maddix, David Maddix, Kathy (Don) Pouwels, Dan (Anne) Maddix, Lisa (Ken) Gutowski, Laura (Kelly) VandeVen, Raymond Maddix, Shelly McCourt, and many nieces and nephews. Jimmy was married for 33 years and is survived by his ex- wife, Sue Maddix, whom he remained great friends with. Jimmy was preceeded in death by his parents Delores and James Maddix and sister-in-law, Leanne Maddix. Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N Tenth Street, De Pere, after 4pm Sunday October 6, 2013, until time of service at 7:30pm.
