Obituary

James "Jim" J. Manders, 73, De Pere, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2009 after an extended illness at Woodside Lutheran Home with his entire family by his side. Jim was born October 9, 1935 in Green Bay, a son of the late John and Genevieve (Vanden Heuvel) Manders. He graduated from East High School in 1954 and served his country in the U.S. Army. On May 13, 1961 Jim married the former Lois Rymer. He spent his career as a mason with various contractors before retiring from Selmer Co. Jim is survived by his wife Lois, De Pere; four children: Lori (Craig) Herkert, Coral Gables, FL, James "Jay" (Amy) Manders, Hobart, Michelle (Dan) Cutugno, Portland, Or, and Kim (Tom) Anderson, Hinsdale, IL; eight grandchildren: Alex and Darby Herkert, Zak, Danielle and Nicole Manders, Haley, Hannah, and Spencer Anderson. Jim is further survived by three brothers Richard, Wausaukee, Jack, Racine, and Gary (Pat), Green Bay; and one sister Sue Boerschinger, Oshkosh. Lois' family also survives Jim: Pat DeWitt, Bob (Kay) Rymer, Sue (Curt) Rentmeester, Allen (Lynette) Rymer, Wayne (Sugi) Rymer, and Ray Cardenas; and many special nieces, nephews, and extended family. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Ethan; brother Robert; Lois' parents John (Lenora) Rymer; and his sister and brother-in-law: Jean Cardenas and Doug DeWitt. Visitation for Jim will be Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 N. Tenth St, De Pere from 9:00 until 11:00 AM. Funeral service will be Tuesday at the funeral home at 11:00 AM with Fr.
