IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Robert
Vandenput
April 1, 1941 – November 20, 2025
James (Jim) R. Vandenput, 84, Ashwaubenon, formerly of Crivitz, was greeted at the gates of heaven by his wife. Rosie, after a long battle with dementia. Like his beloved Rosie, Jim left us at his favorite time of year. No doubt he and Rosie will be looking for that "Big Buck". Jim was born on April 1, 1941, in Green Bay to the late Henry (Marjorie) Vandenput. He grew up in the Preble area and graduated from Preble High School in 1959.
After graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force, serving from 1959-1963 in Clovis, New Mexico as an aircraft mechanic. Upon completion of his service, he started working on the assembly floor at Paper Converting Machine Company in 1964. He retired from PC in the spring of 2001.
On September 11, 1965, Jim married Rosemary (Rosie) Hromas at St. Bernard Catholic Church. They celebrated 56 years together before she passed on November 23, 2021.
Jim loved deer hunting and being up north in Crivitz, eventually living up there for 16 years.
He also enjoyed bowling, boating, camping, playing sheepshead and going to the casino. Both he and Rosie enjoyed traveling all over including Canada, Alaska, Hawaii and out West. But most of all, he loved spending time this his grandson Adam, picking him up early from the babysitter after work.
Jim is survived by his daughter Sonya (Dan) DeRuyter, his son Frank Vandenput (Kathy Baye) and his grandson Adam (Kortney) DeBauche. He is further survived by his sister Kay Mallien, brother-in-law Ken Hazaert; in addition to three nieces, a nephew and many dear friends.
In addition to his wife, Jim is preceded in death by his parents Hank and Marge; his mother and father-in-law Leonard (Clara) Mancheski; his brother and sister-in-law Don (Nancy) Vandenput; brother-in-law Gary Mallien; sister-in-law Mary Hazaert along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family and friends may gather at Cedar Creek Event Center, 1018 Cedar Street in De Pere from 11:00am – 2:00pm, Saturday, November 29, 2025, with a service held at 11:30am. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere, is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Jim's name will be established.
We would like to thank the caring staff at Woodside Villa 1 and the staff at Heartland Hospice for the love and care you showed Jim over the 3.5 years. A special thank you to his dear friends, Tom, Irene, Nancy and Leon for all of your visits.
Service and military honors at 11:30AM.
