IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janet Lee
Duggan
October 18, 1941 – October 1, 2022
Janet (Jan) Duggan, 80, died peacefully on October 1,2022 surrounded by her children at home. One week prior to her death, she was smiling, drinking her Coke and sharing stories with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the life of the party, always had to hug you and was that energizer bunny that never sat down.
She loved her Sunday Fundays, the Packers and especially, Coach Matt LaFleur. She even dreamed of Matt LaFleur visiting her in a Coke truck. Her favorite music was anything Elvis and was looking forward to her trip scheduled to Graceland this month.
She was born October 18, 1941, in Green Bay to the late Ervin and Agnes Zastrow. She attended West De Pere High School and enjoyed attending her class reunions each year.
On July 18, 1961, she married the love of her life, James (Jim) Duggan. They met at a tennis court dance and were engaged in St Augustine, FL. Jan and Jim celebrated 57 years together before Jim passed away in 2018. They enjoyed motorcycle trips, ATV excursions and just sitting at the kitchen table talking to each other for hours. Jan learned to love their place in Florence, WI since Jim loved the woods and hunting, but she was a hot weather person and was most happy as a snowbird in Wickenberg, AZ.
Jan was most happy when she was with her 3 children, Cathy VandenHeuvel (Denis), Connie Schwartz and John Duggan (Jodi) and her 12 grandchildren Mark VandenHeuvel (Krystal), Matthew VandenHeuvel (Stephanie), James VandenHeuvel (Katrina), Joshua Schwartz (Renee), Ryan Schwartz (Sarah), Christopher Schwartz, Nicole Schwartz (Brian), Cody Schwartz (Trina), Donovan Duggan (Ashley), Dustin Duggan (Sara), Autumn Duggan (Nathan), John-David Duggan (Alex). And her ever growing great-grandchildren, Kristiana, Arianna, Kurtis, Raylee, Airri, Aubrie, Austin, Madelyn, McKenzie, Molly, Koda, Elsa, Wyatt and soon to be Aria. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jan ran her cleaning business for over 60 years and formed life-long friendships with her clients in De Pere, Green Bay, Wickenburg, Florence and at Nicolet Highlands. She was most happy when she was cleaning and painting.
After Jim passed, she moved into Nicolet Highlands and made new friends, enjoyed the activities and most importantly dancing when they had musicians and bands. She dressed up for the Halloween parties, decorated pumpkins, played bingo and loved the dinners and birthday desserts celebrations.
She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Zastrow and two brothers-in-law: Chip Williams and Bob Van Deurzen, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Jan was preceded in death by her siblings; Audrey Zastrow, Marie Van Deurzen, Buddy Zastrow, and sister-in-law, Diane Williams.
