JanetLee "Janet" M. Mickel, 59, Oconto, passed away at home on May 1, 2018 following a lengthy battle with cancer. The daughter of Richard and Viola (Charles) Johnson was born on April 30, 1959 in Green Bay. Janet was the oldest of ten children, and graduated from West De Pere High School. For years, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and a cab driver. Some of Janet's greatest enjoyments were camping, fishing, car shows, crocheting and traveling. She loved spending time with her family and caring for her beloved cats. Anyone who knew Janet knew how much she cared for others. She is survived by her partner, Gary Nejedlo; mother Viola (stepfather Orvis Jr. "Al") Resler; siblings Jacky (Duran) Schroeder, Debbie Denny, Ronald Johnson, Barbara Frank (boyfriend Ron), Roger (Tammy) Johnson, Kathy Johnson (boyfriend Gerald), Candy Cleven (friend Rich), Karen Williams and Bradley Johnson (girlfriend Michelle). Janet is further survived by her Godson, Bo White, as well as many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Janet was preceded in death by her father, Richard; husband, Scott Mickel; brother-in-law, Robert Denny; and nephew, Shawn Frank. Family and friends may visit at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM to close the evening. The family would like to thank the staff at Unity Hospice and everyone who visited Janet in the last year.
