Jason A. Briggs, 45, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on July 5, 2022. Jason was born on July 22, 1976 to Darwin and Sandy (Hillesland) Briggs in Kenosha Wisconsin. Jason was united in marriage to Shawn Murphy on September 9, 2005. Together they were blessed with a son, Gavin. From a young age, Jason liked tinkering with machines, and even got himself into a little trouble at age 12 when he couldn't figure out how to put the family computer back together after dismantling it. Jason was proud of his time spent playing on the Tremper High School football team. In more recent years, he enjoyed boating in his 16' 1976 Glastron speedboat, fondly named Lunatic Red, and restoring his square body Chevrolet truck, which he purchased and drove back from Arizona with Gavin. Jason loved family outings and vacations with Shawn and Gavin, often telling Shawn that as long as she planned it, he would drive them anywhere. He was always quick to help anyone with computer issues, often starting the conversation with a joking "What did you break now?" Many of his favorite activities involved his family and friends, including going for motorcycle rides with his son, brother, and dad; fixing vehicles; playing darts in a league sponsored by Rookies Bar & Grill in Appleton; and participating as an active member of Boy Scouts Troop 57 with Gavin. Jason is survived by his loving wife, Shawn; son, Gavin; parents, Darwin and Sandy Briggs; brother, Jeremy (Mandy) Briggs; father and mother-in-law, Joseph Jr. and Lia Murphy; brother-in-law, Joseph III (Sarah) Murphy; sister-in-law, Shannon (Matt) Keiler; grandparents, Lief Hillesland, Julie Briggs; niece and nephews, Connor, Rafe, Emma, Ashur Briggs, Rory, Ian Keiler, Joey, Henry Murphy; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents, Delores Briggs, Merle Briggs, Bertha Hillesland. A celebration of Jason's life will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Colonial House Supper Club, located at N4330 County Road E in Freedom. Family and friends may visit at Colonial House starting at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, a fund is being set up in Gavin's name.
