Jean Van Den Elzen, 56, of De Pere, died Sunday May 3, 2015, surrounded by family and friends, following a courageous fight with cancer. The daughter of the late Gerald and Charlotte (Hafemann) Van Den Elzen was born December 2, 1958. She was a graduate of Denmark High School.
Jean worked at the VA Clinics, both in Appleton and Green Bay. Prior to her years at VA, she had worked at the Red Cross and SureWay Distribution Center. She loved being a member of the Green Bay Jimmy Buffet Parrothead Club. Jean ran her own printing business for many years, providing business cards and wedding invitations for many people in the area. She was a kind woman who had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved flowers and animals, especially her cockatiel, Spike. Jean was a fantastic cook and an avid Packer fan. She loved life and her friends.
She is survived by her companion of 34 years, Don Robillard, by her 8 siblings, Rose (David) Welsing, Ray Van Den Elzen, Rochelle "Shelly" (David) Grusznski, Joan (Jerome) Zillges, Gerald (Pam) Van Den Elzen, Robert (Carla) Van Den Elzen, Arleen (Robert) Weyland , and Melissa (Brad) Albers. She is also survived by 7 nieces and 9 nephews, 2 great-nieces, 4 great-nephews, and her god child, Arin. Jean is also survived by her extended family, Bob and Bev Robillard, David and Mimi Robillard and their children; as well as Luetta Robillard. Family and friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory, 305 North Tenth Street from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday May 6, 2015. Prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm. with Pastor Jack Guerra, officiating. Visitation will continue on Thursday morning at Spring Lake Church, 2240 Klondike Road, Green Bay from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
