Pokorny, Jean S. (Obry) age 82 was born on August 23, 1938, daughter of the late Harlan and Viola Obry. She attended Casco High School and graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1956 and celebrated a numerous class reunions. She was married to Bert Lewins, and they had a son, Randy Lewins. On December 14, 1963, she married George Pokorny, Jr. and they had a son, George III. They were able to commemorate both 40th and 50th wedding anniversary celebrations with friends and family. Jean worked at Warren Insurance for 11 years, at Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company for 22 years, at Wisconsin Power Systems, Greener Pastures, Fine Line Graphics, and for her son's company Lewins Electric. Jean was an active volunteer at the Bay Area Humane Society for over 30 years as well as secretary/treasurer of the Zion Lutheran Ladies Guild and Treasurer of Zion Lutheran Church for four years. She is survived her two son Randy Lewins (Mary) and George III, by two sisters and one brother: Dave (Pam) Obry, Banning, Ca., Cheryl (Karl) Korth, Cottage Grove, Wi, and Carole (BJ) Wagener, Santa Maria Ca. special nieces Nicole (John) Otterson, Krista (Craig) Dopf, and Kimberly (Nathaniel) Wagner, plus many other nieces and nephews. Also survived by best friends, Jim and Kelly Skenandore and their children, Julia (Raman) and Kyle (Kenzie). She will be missed by anyone that had ever known her. Friends may visit after 9:00AM on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Zion Lutheran Church 453 Rose Hill Dr., Oneida, until time of service at 11:00AM with Pastor Chris Burg officiating.
