IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jerome "Joe" Joseph
Secor
November 9, 1936 – December 15, 2022
Jerome "Joe" Joseph Secor, 86, De Pere, passed away peacefully Thursday morning December 15, 2022. He was born November 9, 1936, to Henry Sr. and Winifred (Calaway) Secor.
He attended Nicolet High School.
On November 22, 1958, he married Marlene Mae Dumas at St. Boniface in De Pere, and she preceded him in death in December 1974. In 1985, he met Judi Becker, his fiancé and lifelong companion. They shared many happy years together.
He worked at US Paper Mill for 14 years. In 1970, he bought the service station at 400 Main Ave in De Pere, and along with his 2 sons ran Joe's Service & Used Cars for 47 years. His grandson Sam also worked there for a few years. In 1977, for the sake of bringing it back into the family, he bought the bar that his grandma VandenBranden owned many decades prior. He named it Joe's Bar and added an outside volleyball court. He was so proud that it was the first one in Brown County. It was the place to be!
Joe loved racing stock cars in his younger years. He enjoyed Sunday polka dances, bowling, playing cards with his buddies, going out to dinner with family and friends, watching the grandkids activities, going to the "club" and bike rides with Judi.
Joe liked being a landlord and was known for his incredible work ethic. Always the social butterfly, he had a smile and a funny joke for everyone he met.
He is survived by his fiancé Judi, his children: Bill (Mary), Ron (Jean), Teri (Scott), and Barb (Kris). Grandkids: Liz (Matt), Dylan (Whitney), Lexi (Taylor), Sam (Jenni), Anthony, Carlee, Alex (Julia), Chloe, Christopher, and Courtney. Great grandkids: Bentley, Blakely, Carson, and Baker. His brother Henry "Hank", as well as many in-laws from the Dumas family, brother-in law Randy Becker, and many nieces and nephews survive him.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife Marlene, stepdaughter Lisa Becker, and brothers/sisters Anna Marie, Harold (Lou), George (Marie), Ruth (George), Betty (Lowell), June (Ralph), Walter "Chub", Rose (Dick), and sister-in-law Mary.
