Jerry Allen Klug, 80, went to his heavenly home on April 18, 2026, after succumbing to Alzheimer’s due to Agent Orange exposure. He was born on September 1, 1945, to the late Wilmer and Lillian (Treichel) Klug. Jerry was baptized and confirmed in faith at Morrison Zion Lutheran Church. He attended Brillion High School and graduated from De Pere High School.
Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving two tours combat in Vietnam. Among other awards, he received the “Top Load Crew in the South Pacific” honor award. On December 19, 1964, he married Barbara Eichhorst. After his discharge in 1967, Jerry worked as a machinist at Fort Howard Paper Company. Upon retirement, he was an events driver for Lamers Bus Lines, which he enjoyed very much.
Jerry and Barbara were blessed with three precious children, seven grands, and eight greats. Jerry was a loving, gentle, caring Christian husband, father, papa, and friend. He loved sports and was so proud to have coached his children in basketball, baseball, and softball. He loved bowling and was in several leagues, winning many championships. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially with their card group. Jerry loved Jesus and served on various committees at his church.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Barbara, their children: Pastor Kevin (Terese) Klug, Camilla (Dan) Lawler, Jolene (Ken) Aude; grandchildren: Allee (Kyle) Marti, Jerrod (Madelyn) Klug, Natasha (Justin) Putterman, Nicole (Jacob) McClure, Emily Lawler, Cody (Danielle) Aude, Elijah (Madison) Aude; and great-grandchildren: Jett, Clara, Bexley, Macie, Moxie, Abram, Everett, and Quinn.
He is further survived by his brother Jeff Klug, sisters: Jan Belanger (Joe Walker), Donna (Mel) Edinger; brothers-in-law Virgil Stever, Jim (Sheryl) Eichhorst, John (Barb) Eichhorst, Ron (Connie) Eichhorst, and Chuck Skenandore; sisters-in-law: Bev (Nick) Beno, Sue (Jr.) Roehrborn, Michelle Devroy, and Hollie Eichhorst.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Carol Stever, brother-in-law Michael Eichhorst, and sister-in-law Linda Skenandore.
Friends and family may come to call on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at St. Mark Lutheran Church 2066 Lawrence Dr., De Pere from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A funeral service will take place at 12:00 PM with Pastor John Parlow officiating. Military honors to follow. Burial will take place at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Morrison. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jerry may be made to St. Mark Lutheran and Abiding Love Lutheran in Loveland, CO.
