Gerald (Jerry) Kronschnabel, De Pere, 84 years young, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday October 22, 2015. He was born May 5, 1931 to the late Clarence and Dorothy Kronschnabel. On June 2, 1951 he was united in marriage to Darlene Doughty at St. Mary Catholic Church, Greenville. Jerry had managed numerous dairy farms in Brown, Outagamie, Waukesha, and Polk Counties. He then went on to pursue an advanced career in the dairy industry. As a national sales manager with Germania Dairy Automation, he traveled throughout the country, as well as to Canada and Japan. While at Germania, he developed a product which was patented. After retirement, Jerry volunteered his time and talents at numerous places, including St. Vincent Hospital, Life Line, Green Bay Writers Club, Wisconsin Regional Writers Association, and Council for Wisconsin Writers, for which he served on the boards. Jerry was also a member of Green Bay Wood Workers Guild, Abbot Pennings Council 3955 of the Knights of Columbus, and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family. Also after retirement Jerry went into intarsia woodworking, of which he made many beautiful pieces.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Darlene, his children; Robert Kronschnabel, Minneapolis; Patricia (Roy) LaCombe, Maricopa, AZ; Jean (Bill) Williams, Columbia, (MO); and Mari Krahn, Blaine, MN. Jerry is further survived by 6 grandchildren; Sarah (Steven) Cummings, Seattle, WA; Rachel Williams (Brandon Elliott), Shawnee, KS; Chrissy Williams, Joplin, MO; John (Ellyn) Williams, Rock Springs, WY; Elizabeth (Chad) Stenson, North Branch, MN; and Andrew Krahn, Glendale, WI. Jerry's 6 great grandchildren; Richard, Rebecca, Rachel, Evie, Noah, Charlotte, as well as his siblings; Dolores (Bob) Griffith, Therese Cooper, Paul (Ilene) Kronschnabel, Dan (Paula) Kronschnabel, Mardi (Bob) Evans, his brother in law Richard Doughty, as well as numerous nieces and nephews survive him.
Jerry's brother, Peter Kronschnabel, USN Retired preceded him in death.
Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street De Pere from 4:00pm 7:00pm on Monday October 26, 2015. Visitation will continue after 9:00am Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Ave. and Suburban Drive De Pere until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am.
