Jerry K. Shaw, 57, of Wausau, formerly of De Pere, lost his battle to pancreatic cancer Friday afternoon, October 18, 2013 at a Wausau hospital. The son of Walter and Anna (Gans) Shaw was born July 13, 1956 in Columbus, OH. Following high school, he joined the U.S. Navy, and served on the USS America. He married the former Mara Olsen on July 7, 1978 at St. John Lutheran Church, De Pere. He and Mara enjoyed life in De Pere as they started their family. The family moved to the Wausau area in 1997.
He was an avid golfer, bowler and hunter. Jerry was a dedicated family man and enjoyed family time camping and snowmobiling.
Survivors include his family, wife, Mara, two children, Karlee Danielle Shaw and David Tucker Shaw, his sisters, Karen Shaw Wilmhoff and Debi (Shaw) Rose, mother-in-law, Lenore Olsen, as well as Mara's family, Eric and Diane Olsen, LeeAnn and Ted Jeske, Ernie and Lisa Olsen, Lana and Tim Frank, many nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as many close friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Anna Shaw, father-in-law, Orlando Olsen, and brother-in-law, John Wilmhoff.
Family and friends may call at St. John Lutheran Church, 1700 Lost Dauphin Road, De Pere from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Tuesday October 22, 2013.
