James P. Furlong, Jr.

April 11, 1932 – December 6, 2024

James (Jim) P. Furlong, Jr., 92, of De Pere, WI, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024.

Ah…the laughter and love this man brought to us!

Jim (known as Poppa) was born April 11, 1932, to James P. Furlong, Sr. and Margaret Eileen (Welch). Jim's family resided in the Irish section of Syracuse, NY. Jim served in the Army – Post Korean War and was a Le Moyne College graduate turned chemical salesman, pig farmer, and deer hunter.

Along the way, Jim married Barbara on October 22, 1960, in Ellenville, NY. Barbara survives Jim, along with their wonderful family and friends including:

Five children - Kerry (Paul), Kathleen (Casey), Jim (Stephanie), Maggie, and Maureen (Troy); nine grandchildren - Rachel (Brandon), Carly (Nick), Alex, Ethan (Sarah), Lauren, Grace, Emma, Joshua (Hannah), and Michael; seven great-grandchildren - Mackenzie, Aidan, Cameron, Brynn, Maleeyah, Sam and Aurelia; sister-in-law Catherine; brothers-in-law Bob (Joan) and John (Carol); nephew-like-a-son Jon Scott Wood, plus additional nieces and nephews; special friends Bob Laskowski, David Brud, the U.P. crew, Father Seamus and Our Lady Of Lourdes 7:30 a.m. mass group, and many more.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, sister Anne (Mike), son Michael, Barbara's parents and sister Rosemary, and grandson Samuel.

Ryan Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for a private service.
