May 16, 1951 – January 9, 2023
Joan M. Van Grunsven, 71, De Pere, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born May 16, 1951, to the late Carl and Grace (Ambrosius) Landwehr.
Joan attended St. Boniface Grade School and graduated from St. Joseph Academy, class of 1969. On September 1, 1972, she was united in marriage to Dan Van Grunsven at St. Boniface Church, De Pere.
Family always came first for Joan, whether spending time with her three grandchildren, her children, and her siblings. Joan and Dan loved to travel, visiting all fifty states, and traveling abroad on multiple cruises. Joan also volunteered her time at St. John's Homeless Shelter and De Pere Christian Outreach Food Pantry.
She is survived by her husband Dan, their children; Brian Van Grunsven, and Kimberly (Jared) Lapacek. Grandchildren; Mercedi, Capri, and Pip Lapacek. Joan's siblings; Judy (Mike) Parins, Jerry (Ellen) Landwehr, John (Eileen) Landwehr, Chuck (Pat) Landwehr, Dan (Judy) Landwehr, Betty (Dan) Danen, Mary Kay (Jack) Bressers, Jim (Laurie) Landwehr, Diane (Ed) Kiley, David (Judy) Landwehr, Peggy (Dave) Blondheim, and Barb (Mark) Van Bellinger. Her Mother-in-law Grace Crabb, and sisters and brothers-in law; Gary (Connie) Van Grunsven, Mike (Cathy) Van Grunsven, Anne (Mark) Golueke, and Carol (John) Verboncoeur further survive her.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Grace, as well as her sister Patricia Landwehr and father-in-law Fred Van Grunsven.
Friends may call from 9:00AM – 10:45AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, De Pere on Friday, January 13th. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM with Fr. Jim Baraniak O.Praem. officiating. Please go to www.ryanfh.com to leave online memorials for Joan.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Joan's name to either St. John's Homeless Shelter, Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family or Unity Hospice.
Special thanks to the medical staff at Prevea Clinic, Mayo Clinic and Unity Hospice for all the care and concern shown to Joan and her family.
