Obituary

John "Red" Bacon, 78, De Pere, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2008 after a short illness. He was born June 8, 1930 in Green Bay to the late Ben and Ella (Strenium) Bacon. On June 17, 1974, he married Patricia (Seroogy) Bani. Red had worked for the City of De Pere before joining WG&R Furniture for 25yrs. He enjoyed going out to eat, camping, and in his early years he traveled with the O'Hare Stunt Show and was known as "Iron Chest" and "Fire Ball". He also liked to putz around the garage and with his animals, but above all he liked to spend time with his family. He is survived by his wife; Patricia, his children; Joanne (Robert) Strenn, Mavis (Leigh) Pickl, Patricia (Dan) Pansier-Miller, Jeffrey (Cyndy) Bani, Randall (Kim) Bani, Keith (Sandra) Bani, Kevin (Patti) Bani, Lisa (Jim) Michiels, and Julie (Bob) Hussin. He is further survived by thirty-one grandchildren; Dale, Darren, Joel, Shanon, Amanda, Elizabeth, Stacy, Kristie, Chad, Jamie, Bruce, Heather, Stephanie, Becky, Anthony, Tiffany, Tony, Korissa, April, Angela, Alyssa, Paige, Connor, Melissa, Ricky, Robbie, Nicole, Matthew, Chris, Jessica, Chad, and numerous great grandchildren. Red is further survived by his siblings; Florence (Ambrose) Manders, Helen Peters, Carol (Bernie) Marcinkowski, Marilyn (Don) VandenBerg, Dan (Pat) Bacon, as well as his sisters and brother in law; Bonnie Bacon, Mavis Destolle, and Butch (Verna) Zelten, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Siblings; June Zelten and Elwood Bacon, an infant brother, Dennis, and a brother in law; Norbert Peters. Friends may call after 11am Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Woodside Lutheran Home until the funeral service at 2pm with Pastor Steve Apfel officiating.
