Obituary

John (Jack) E. Cornelissen, 82, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon (Nov 25th) surrounded by his family. He was born January 8, 1941 in Green Bay, son of the late Vivian and Sylvester Cornelissen. On September 2nd, 1963 he married the love of his life, Mary Ellen Leick.

Jack was a kind man who lived a simple life. He was hardworking and always made sure his family was taken care of, especially after his wife Mary Ellen passed. Jack cherished his time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was known as the infamous "Grandpa Jack". You could find him on any given day on the golf course, fishing, or woodworking. A few of his favorite creations include: birdhouses, benches, planter boxes, and his latest, charcuterie boards and Christmas trees.

He was a friend to all and loved his family dearly. Jack and Mary Ellen spent many years together traveling, especially to Florida where they leave behind family and many friends. He was a lifelong member of St. Clare Catholic Parish and an active member of the Greenleaf/Wrightstown Optimist Club. He worked at Green Bay Packaging for 42 years.

Jack will be sadly missed by his children; Joleen (Scott) Gosha, Darren (Donna) Cornelissen, Corey Cornelissen, Nicole (Bob) Hoffmann, and Shawn (Mary Beth) Cornelissen; 11 grandchildren; Nathan Gosha, Tyler (Kari) Cornelissen, Travis (Macaela) Cornelissen, Ryan (Becky) Cornelissen, Kearstin Cornelissen, Isaac, Olivia, and Evan Hoffmann, Austin (Ali) Cornelissen, Paige Cornelissen (Evan), and Elizabeth Cornelissen, and all their families which include 10 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sibling Sandy Greenley and sister-in-law Bonnie Cornelissen. Mary Ellen's family; Lou Wiegert, Roger (JoAnn) Leick, John (Joan) Leick, Dick (Barb) Leick, Marlene (Glenn) Geurts, Tom (Linda) Leick, Gary (Marlene) Leick, and Ann (Randy) Smits; and numerous niece and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ellen, brother Jerry Cornelissen, sisters Mary Lou (Lloyd) Gussert, Carol (Bill) Burke, and Germaine (Leo) Diny, nephew Dan (Gwen) Diny. Mary Ellen's family; brother-in-law Paul Wiegert, God daughter/niece Anna Geurts - Johnsen and nephew Christopher Leick. Special friend Bette Bryan.

Visitation for Jack will be Friday, December 1st from 9 a.m.-12:00, St Clare Parish – Greenleaf, 2218 Day Street, Greenleaf, WI 54126. Mass of a Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 12:00 p.m. Please visit www.ryanfh.com to send online condolences to the Cornelissen family.
