Obituary

Jonathon "Jon" Toepfer passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on Saturday, May 21 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 44. Jon was born on March 28th, 1972 in Salem, Oregon. Jon grew up in Oregon, along with his 11 siblings, and always loved the outdoors. At 18, he moved to Arizona where his son Taylor was born. A few years later he settled in Green Bay/De Pere Wisconsin, where he made his home and his daughter Paige was born. Shortly after moving to Wisconsin, he began his career at Valley Cabinet where he would stay for the next 20 years. Jon enjoyed many things; but none more than fishing and hunting with family and friends and spending time with the love of his life, Jenn. Jon would hunt with his bow and became an avid marksman with many successful hunts. His other passion was fishing. It didn't matter what for, as long as there were fish to catch, he was all in. Jon also loved the Green Bay Packers! We know some people are fans, but Jon never missed a game and when they won, believe me, you were getting a phone call! Jon loved his kids very much and he often spoke of them and their many accomplishments; they meant the world to him. Jon loved his friends and if you were fortunate to be one of them he would give you the shirt of his back if you needed it. His generous spirit and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Jon is survived by his son Taylor Scott 24, his daughter Paige Toepfer 6, and girlfriend Jennifer Eagle; along with his parents Corel and Wilfrid Landry, and siblings Travis Toepfer, Charlotte Toepfer, Paul Landry, Rose Landry, Joe Landry, Susan Horton, Elizabeth Capen, Juliana Huff, Thomas Landry, Jillian Self, and Diane Landry. He is further survived by his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, May 25 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Ryan Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 5:00 PM Wednesday at Ryan Funeral Home in De Pere, WI and burial will follow services at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. All are welcome to attend the celebration of Jon's life. Family will have a memorial celebration for Jon in Oregon at a date and time to follow. A special thank you to the compassionate caring staff of the Bellin Cancer Team, Bellin Hospital, and Unity Hospice.
