Joni H. (Brautigan) Thompson, 66 of De Pere passed away peacefully Saturday evening December 26, 2009 at her home after a 6-year battle with cancer. She was born January 4, 1943 to Mary (Vondracek) and the late George Brautigan. On July 18, 1964 she married Robert "Bob" Thompson. Joni graduated from Kaukauna High School and the Outagamie County Teachers College. She is survived by her husband Bob, her two sons; Scott (Michelle) Thompson (Matthew and Mary), and Shawn Thompson and his friend Katie. Her mother Mary Brautigan further survives Joni, as well as her siblings; Pat (Mary Kay) Brautigan, Diane (Wayne) Hingle, Deb (Mike) McMorrow, Wendy Brautigan, nieces and nephews, Levi (Sarah) Brautigan, Adam Brautigan, Jonathan (Robin) Hingle, Ashley Hingle, Chris McMorrow (Rosa Lopez), Sara (Tyler) Hungerford, and her brother in law Russ (Karen) Thompson, and sister in law Cindy Thompson. She was preceded in death by her father George, her brother Mike Brautigan, her sister in law Jane Brautigan, and her brother in law Rick Thompson. Friends may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street De Pere from 4 6pm Wednesday. A funeral service for Joni will be held at 6pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
