Joyce M. George, 88, De Pere, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 24, 2016. She was born June 8, 1927 to the late Elmer and Flora DeWitt. On June 21, 1947 she was united in marriage to Gordon George. Joyce was a proud member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 2113 and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family. Joyce had worked in the lunch room at West De Pere High School for a time. She enjoyed golf, her book club, Learning in Retirement for 15 years, bingo and bowling. Her greatest enjoyment came from the time spent with her family. Joyce is survived by her children; Carolyn (Lawrence) Lasee, Debra (Raymond) Diederich, John (Sue) George, Patrick (Donna) George, and her daughter in law Nancy George, as well as 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, her brother Ronald DeWitt and her sister in law Carol DeGroot. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gordon, as well as her son Michael, granddaughter Sarah, 2 brothers, Claude and Lloyd and her brother in law, Donald George. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 Am with Fr. Tim Shillcox O.Praem officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
