Joyce Kussow, 75, Freedom, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday April 21, 2018. She was the last surviving child of the late Leo and Agnes (Hockers) Vercauteren and was born on August 10, 1942. On June 18, 1983 she married Merle Kussow. Joyce enjoyed the outdoors, a good game of cards and puzzles, but it was the time she spent with family, that she cherished the most. She is survived by her husband Merle, 2 sons and one daughter and their spouses. Joseph (Bonnie) Calaway, Sandy (Timothy) Sprangers, Michael (Miriam) Calaway, her 6 stepchildren; Willie (Kay) Kussow, Ray (Janice) Kussow, Kim (Marv Vande Hey) Fox, Roy (Pamela Jansen) Kussow, Mark (Terrie) Kussow, Sherry (Dave) Janus, as well as 18 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Leo and Agnes Vercauteren, her son Ricky Calaway, and grandson Joshua Calaway. Joyce was further preceded in death by her siblings; Richard Vercauteren, Lloyd Vercauteren, Kenneth Vercauteren, Jeanne Dupuis, Delores Kaiver, and Elaine Sealy.
