Joyce Marie Laabs, age 66, passed away peacefully at Caraton Commons, De Pere, Wl on April 13, 2026, after a long illness with family by her side. She was born in Green Bay, WI on April 26, 1959, to Donald J. Ambrosius and Helen C. (Green) Ambrosius.
Joyce was raised on a family farm in rural De Pere. She graduated from West De Pere High. Joyce was employed by the Oneida Nation for several years in childcare. She also enjoyed planting and caring for her many flowers as well as watching the visiting birds. Walker Texas Ranger and Law and Order were her favorite TV shows. Her vacation place of choice was Wisconsin Dells, where riding the ducks was a must.
Joyce is survived by her children Jerry Shockley and Caitlyn (Zach) Laabs. Brothers: Gary (lyanna) Ambrosius, Rick (Debbie) Ambrosius, Kenny Ambrosius, Mark (Neda) Ambrosius, Joe (Lisa) Ambrosius. Sisters: Kathy (Kevin) Skenandore, Sharon (Douglas) Skenandore, Vicki (Jerry) Strzelecki, Gail (Hank) Aldrich, Kristie (Anthony) Robinson. Joyce is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Donald and Helen Ambrosius, brothers Ronnie and Terry Ambrosius, Neice LeeAnn Skenandore, Sister in Laws Marsha and Carol Ambrosius.
Family and friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. 10th Street, De Pere, WI 54115, on Saturday, April 18, 2026, for visitation starting at 10:00am until the time of service at 12:00pm.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Caraton Commons and Unity Hospice for the wonderful care they provided for Joyce. And a special thank you to Terri Conn for her exceptional care and Ryan Funeral Home for their support.
