IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joyce Marie
Olmsted
January 9, 1926 – June 23, 2024
Joyce (Ronsmans) Olmsted, De Pere, age 98 , passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, on Sunday, June 23rd, 2024, at Unity Hospice. Joyce was born on January 9th, 1926, to Philip and Hazel Ronsmans in Green Bay. She married Robert Olmsted on August 17th, 1946, at Annunciation Church. Joyce and Bob had five children and Joyce said her best accomplishment was having her five children. Her joy was being a wife and mother. Joyce loved to entertain us with her jingles and Happy Birthday phone calls.
Joyce is survived by her children Francine Christensen, Sandra Sullivan, Robert Olmsted, Thomas (Sue) Olmsted, and James Olmsted. Further survived by her grandchildren Kim (Roger) Haslitt, Kelly Christensen, Krina Christensen, Mikal Sullivan, Corey (Melissa) Olmsted, and Shaun (Hope) Sullivan, Great grandchildren include Adrian Haslitt, Kody Christensen, Morgan Haslitt, Electra Sullivan, Taylor (Brandon Bellin) Olmsted, Austin Christensen, Bailey Olmsted, Falling Star Sullivan, Derrion Thornton, Laurent Olmsted, Ramona Sullivan, Patti Sullivan, Madysen Thaysen, and Maxwell Thaysen. Further survived by two great, great grandchildren Everret Gubbels-Haslitt and Phoebe Bellin. Sisters in law who survive her are Virginia and Rosalind Ronsmans. Joyce is survived by special individuals, Jessica Mohr, Jillian Smoot, Jean Horgan and godchildren Laure Ponce and Christine Frank.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Robert Olmsted, her parents Philip and Hazel Ronsmans, her brothers Bernard, Cletus, and John Ronsmans, sisters Dorothy Carpenter, and Marion Mielke. Sisters in law Pat Ronsmans, Betty Bartell, Jean Olmsted, Marion T Sani, brothers in law Gordon Carpenter, Robert Mielke, Edward Bartell, John Olmsted. Also preceding her is great grandson Jackson Kayla Sullivan.
Joyce was a soft spoken, kindhearted mother and grandma. She taught her children and grandchildren to accept others without judgment. She believed she had an A+ family. She was not meant to leave this earth until she had given out all her worldly advice and lessons. We were all learning from her until the end. She lived and died with dignity. We are all going to miss her terribly. We love you mom.
Our family would like to thank everyone associated with Hospice, especially Ashley and Holly. We cannot say enough to express our gratitude to the Unity Hospice nurses, CNA's and staff who showed great compassion to her and all of us. Thank you to everyone who sent us your thoughts, love, and prayers during this difficult time.
