IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judy Lee
Smits
April 19, 1948 – March 19, 2024
Judy L. Smits, 75, Oneida, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning March 19, 2024, surrounded by family and friends.
She was born April 19, 1948, to George Sr. and Ethel (Charles) House.
On February 14, 1972, she was united in marriage to Gary Smits.
Judy had been employed by the Oneida Nation.
The beautiful positive spirit that Judy brought to her life was also reflected in all those she met. Judy enjoyed sewing, crocheting, going to rummage sales, playing darts in league, just to name a few of the things she enjoyed. Her laugh was pure, and personality drew people to her. She loved the time spent with family and friends, always adding laughter to the memories, and especially the time she spent with Brooke either swimming, or sharing life events with each other. Even though she won't physically be present for Brooke's future big moments, she will be there in spirit, with her love and support.
Judy is survived by her husband Gary, son Joe (Significant other Diane Wilson), and granddaughter Brooke (Fiancé Daniel Peters) Smits. Siblings; Nancy Rasmussen, and Alberta Metoxen. Gary's family; Max (Colleen) Smits, Gloria (Mike) Vander Logt, Glen (Julie) Smits, and Pete (Penny) Smits. Sisters-in-law; Darlene House, and Sherry House, brother-in-law Mike Rottier, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and good friends Judy Mathes, Tracey Reynolds, and Bob Zepnick.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Ethel House, in-laws Lloyd and Jean Smits, son Robert "Bob" Smits, her siblings; Diane (Bob) Theisen, Richard House, George "Bruce" House, Jerry House, sister-in-law Judy Rottier, and brothers-in-law Gerald Metoxen, Paul Smits, and Thomas Rasmussen.
