June M. Kossik, 92, passed away on May 2, 2015, in Green Bay. She was born to Ronald and Lucille (Schultz) Johnston November 2, 1922, with her identical twin, Joan, in Barron, WI. She attended school in Barron and then Indiana University for 3 yrs. before joining the Office of Resident Inspector of Naval Material in Bloomington, Indiana. After the war, she married her fianc, Julius "Buzz" Kossik and they started their family in Bloomington. The family moved to Green Bay in 1950.
June worked as secretary at Paper Converting Machine Company and later as Secretary to the President of St. Norbert College. She was active at Christ Episcopal Church in Green Bay and St. Anne's Episcopal Church in DePere, where she was honored for her work with Hmong refugees. She was treasurer of Green Bay/DePere Business and Professional Women. June was a Brownie leader & PTA member at St. Philip's Grade School. She enjoyed bridge club, traveling, camping, sewing, gardening, millinery, square dancing & many social activities. Her whole life, June was highly involved with photography and darkroom work.
June "retired" to Green Valley, AZ, and shared her home and mountain view entertaining many friends and family. She was secretary of the Foothills Townhouses IV Homeowner's Association, active member of St. Francis in the Valley Episcopal Church and enthusiastic member of the Green Valley Camera Club.
June is survived by daughters Betty, Jacki, and Mary Kossik, Patty (Jerry) Christopherson; son, Ronald (Mary Sipiorski); grandchildren Robert VandeHei, Cherie (Jon) Cadieux, Danielle Bentley, Brad, Stephanie & Jeff Kossik; great-grandchildren Nathan & Adam Cadieux, Mason & Logan Bentley and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Julius "Buzz" Kossik, sisters, Joan (Leslie) Ralstin & Lorraine (Marvin) Bothwell, brother Allen (Dolores) Johnston and grandchild, Jason Meidl.
The family would like to thank the staff at Alpha Senior Concepts, Dr. Tracy Sherman's Office, Unity Hospice and Marion DeWitt of St. Paul's, Suamico.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 14 at Ryan Funeral Home 305 N. Tenth Street in West DePere with visitation from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and a brief service with Fr. Jim Conradt at 4:00 pm. Please go to www.ryanfh.com to send online condolences to the family.
