Karen M. Jansen, 60, De Pere, passed away in the early hours of October 13, 2022 following a series of health incidents. The daughter of Alvin and Dorothy (Bain) Summers was born on November 24, 1961.

On November 19, 1988, Karen married the love of her life, Wayne Jansen. Together they raised their two boys, Shayne and Brent.

Karen started working at VOS Electric in 1986 in Rincon, Georgia. She moved back to West De Pere where she continued to work for VOS for over 36 years. Karen was loved by everyone she worked with and her infectious laugh will be missed.

She loved watching her boys play all their sports throughout the years. You could always find her baking pies with her sisters and closest friends on the weekends. Karen loved her girls nights out and playing Yahtzee all night long. Her favorite was her grand-puppy Kenny. She would do anything for him!

Karen is survived by her sons, Shayne and Brent (Elizabeth); siblings and in-laws, Sandy Fitzgerald, Kim Summers, Nancy (Jim Paape) Summers, Jan Van Den Heuvel, and Gary Janssen; Wayne's family, Sandy (Jay) Van Thiel, Cheryl (Tom) McCarthy and Bev (Jerry) Romenesko. She is further survived by her many nieces and nephews, countless friends and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years, Wayne; her parents, Al and Dorothy; Wayne's parents, James and Patricia; brother, Dick Summers (who died just hours before Karen), sister, Mary Janssen; brother-in-law Tom Fitzgerald and other members of his extended family.

We would like to give a special thanks to Bellin ICU staff for their unconditional love and support to not only Karen but her family, and Fresenius Kidney Care Green Bay through the years.

A Celebration of Life will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at The Stadium View, 1963 Holmgren Way, Green Bay. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established for Karen.
