Katalayah Isabel Ninham of Oneida, WI passed away on the 7th of August 2021. She was born on September 28, 2016 to Ramonica Smith and Jeremy Ninham and was given her Oneida name: Wataw^:láts, meaning "she goes over". She attended Seymour Rock Ledge Primary School as a kindergartener and was a member of the Daddy Gang.
Katalayah enjoyed many things throughout her life, including swimming, jumping on the trampoline, playing with chalk, drawing, coloring, blowing bubbles, playing with her cat Nova, going on car rides, and going through the car wash. You could often catch her watching her favorite movies and TV programs, such as Doc McStuffins, Frozen, Coco, Luca, Ferdinand, Trolls, and the Book of Life. Katalayah was also a snack enthusiast and would always chase a waterfall or lake whenever she saw one. More than anything, though, she loved spending as much time as she could with her beloved family.
Katalayah is survived by her parents, Ramonica Smith and Jeremy Ninham; her sister, Lillyana Kay Ninham; her Godparents, Angela Smith, Marcus Tucker, Julia 'JuJu" Van Straten, and Tom Reiffers; her grandparents, Kenneth and Pauline Ackley and Joseph and Shelly Ninham; and her aunts and uncles, Angela, Romeo, and Beverly Smith, Claudia, Mario, Angel, and Ruby Encines, Joseph Jr, Jaymi, Austin, Jordan, Jackie, and Justin Ninham, Tehaluhyaweest, Yeluhyatikha, Marian, Victoria, and Damia Ackley.
She is preceded in death by her big brother, Benny and two little brothers, Lennox and Jude; great-grandparents, Beverly and Ernest Marlewski Sr, Abraham Ninham Sr, and David Green Sr; her cousins, Donaven Haevers-Ninham and Terrance Metoxen; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and other cousins.
Family and friends may call from 3 PM – 10 PM on Wednesday, August 11 at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 North 10th Street, De Pere. Visitation will continue on August 12 from 9 AM – 11 AM at Ryan Funeral Home until the funeral service at 11 AM.
