Kathleen M. (Farrell) Berg, 101, De Pere, WI, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015 at her home surrounded by family. Kay was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Campbell) Farrell born on April 11, 1914 in Askeaton, WI. She was joined in marriage to Donald Berg on May 6, 1941 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Askeaton. He preceded her in death on March 10, 1998.
Kathleen was a registered nurse and worked at St. Mary Hospital for many years and later in life she was a private duty nurse. Kathleen loved to dance, play golf, root for the Packers, and loved to socialize. Everyone loved mom's "homemade bread', Tom and Jerry's, and her warm hospitality.
She is survived by her children and spouses: Edward and Julie Berg of Chilton, WI, Ann and Tom Amenson of Merrill, WI, Dan Berg of De Pere, WI, Janice and Randy Kempen of De Pere, and Jim Berg of Marinette, WI; her daughter-in-law Mary Berg of Green Bay, WI; grandchildren: Melanie (Rob) Covey, Heidi Bott, Amy (Derek) Lutz, Tracy (Bob) Kavanaugh, Tony (Maria) Amenson, Andy (Kristin) Amenson, Michael (Dawn) Amenson, Nick (Nicole) Kempen, Pat (Tara) Kempen, Brian (Christina) Berg, Kim Berg, and Kristin Berg, her brother Ed (Eleanor) Farrell of Cecil, WI; and her 22 great grandchildren. Kay was preceded in death by her daughter Kathleen; son Bill; daughter-in-law Joanie Berg; two sisters: Arleen (Tom) Hanaway, Gladys (Charlie) O'Connor; two brothers: Tom (Kate) Farrell, Don (Mickie) Farrell; three brothers-in-law: Bob (Betty) Berg, Francis (Eve) Berg, and Harley (Helen) Berg; and sister-in-law Myrtle (Lou) Dubord.
Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis Xavier Church, 220 S. Michigan St, De Pere, WI on Monday, August 24, 2015 from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am with Fr. Richard Getchel and Abbot Gary Neville, O. Praem. officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, De Pere, next to her husband and daughter.
We are eternally grateful to our brother Dan for his loving care of our mother for years. The family would like to extend a special thanks to hospice for their care and compassion to Kay in her final days.
